House rules

Solis gym rules

Ten simple rules that keep Solis the best place on the island to train. Members, visitors and coaches — they apply to everyone.

  1. Respect is rep one

Treat every member, coach and staff member the way you want to be treated. No exceptions.

  2. Re-rack your weights

Plates, dumbbells and bars go back where you found them. Every set, every time.

  3. Wipe it down

Bring a towel, use it, and wipe your equipment when you’re done with it.

  4. Share the floor

Nobody owns a machine. Between sets, let others work in.

  5. Phones don’t hold equipment

Scrolling, calls or long chats? Step off the machine so someone else can train.

  6. Film yourself, not others

Content is welcome. Filming other members without their OK is not.

  7. Drop it, don’t slam it

Control your weights. A dropped deadlift is fine; a slammed dumbbell is not.

  8. Dress to train

Training shoes and gym clothes on the floor — closed toes, always.

  9. Coaching is by Solis trainers

Personal training on the floor is done by Solis-approved coaches only.

  10. Leave it better

Lockers, showers, the floor, the smoothie bar — leave them the way you’d like to find them.

Questions

Personal training questions

How much does a personal trainer cost in St. Maarten?

It depends on the package and how often you train. Message us with your goal and we’ll send you the options.

I’m a complete beginner. Is personal training for me?

Especially for you. A coach teaches you the basics safely, builds your confidence on every machine and gives you a plan you can follow.

Can I get a body composition scan in St. Maarten?

Yes. Our body composition scan measures 36 health and fitness metrics — including body fat percentage, skeletal muscle mass, body water and basal metabolic rate — for $25 (NAf 44.75) per session, and members get a free scan on their birthday. Ask a member of our team.

How often should I train with a coach?

Most people start with two or three sessions a week, then train on their own in between with the program their coach wrote.

Can you help with nutrition?

Our team knows training and nutrition, and the Solis Smoothie Bar makes hitting your protein easy.

What are the gym rules?

Respect, re-rack, wipe down, share the floor — ten simple rules. Read them all.
